seeking and selecting an actor for a particular
role or assignment. For example, if a casting director is looking for
actors to be in a movie, the casting director might post a
casting call soliciting actors who are interested in
auditioning. The casting director auditions to actors and
selects the actors who would be a good fit for various
roles.
